CLASS LEVELS
Ages 3 & 4:
Please see our Mini Beatz class description below for this age bracket.
Level 1:
Typically ages 5-8 with little to no experience. Simple combinations taught at a slower pace.
Level 2:
Typically ages 8-11. More complex movements taught at a slow to intermediate pace.
Level 3:
Typically ages 12+. Intermediate combinations with more focus on musicality and artistic expression. Choreography taught at an intermediate to advanced pace.
Level 4:
Typically ages 14+. Advanced combinations taught at a fast pace. Dancers looking to be challenged with learning more intricate choreography with syncopated rhythms should take this level.
Adults:
Try: The REMIX (on pause during Covid), or any level 3 or 4 class if you have previous dance experience.
Competitive Teams
Dolls, Bellas, Divas, Gemz, Royals, Queens
These teams will travel to one or two national competitions a season. These classes are for the committed dancer looking to advance themselves as a performer and be pushed to new heights. Dancers have high standards to meet and maintain to be in these classes and must be recommended by a teacher to gain admittance. New students must audition. These classes should be taken very seriously and dancers are expected to practice for these classes outside of the studio and come in every week prepared for new material. This year there will be two dance seasons instead of one. Competition students are required to participate in both seasons. Please sign up for the class titled "Competition Team" and attend the evaluation on August 29 for your class placement. Read about Evaluations here. During the Fall 2020 season competition teams meet once a week with an alternating twice a week schedule. They will each meet every other Friday in addition to their regular class time.
CLASS GENRES
Hip Hop
This class focuses on the popular urban cultural style of dance that will focus on technique, rhythm, style and musicality. Students will learn fun, age-appropriate, original choreography that resembles industry professionals . Each class features classic party dance moves, new-school hip-hop energy, and basic break dancing combos including basic footwork, freezes and more. This environment allows students to gain confidence and build self-esteem.
Jazz
Using elements of hip-hop, jazz and contemporary, Stephanie creates challenging and fun routines with a focus on dynamics and performance. Classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment and coordination, followed by progressions across the floor (on pause during Covid), and culminates in extended dance combinations. The movement explores a range of styles with a focus on jazz components such as isolations, rhythm, and technical elements. The goal is to develop dancers who are expressive, dynamic, musical, and passionate.
Tap
Tap is a timeless art that combines dance, rhythm, and percussion. These.classes explore the traditions of rhythm tap and Broadway tap. Class begins with warm up exercises that increase control, coordination, and rhythm, followed by across the floor exercises (on pause during Covid) that teach dynamics, phrasing, and musicality, concluding with extended rhythmic phrases and combination exercises. The goal is to develop tap dancers that are equally strong musicians, dancers, and performers.
Modern
This class appeals to the creative, artistic soul in everyone because of its expressiveness and freedom of individuality. A warm up of strength and flexibility work, followed by exercises that emphasize balance, momentum, force, and emotion, and culminate in long movement phrases and improvisation exercises that playfully explore movement possibilities. This class has influences from Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, and Ballet.
The goal is to develop strong, versatile, and expressive dancers that can intelligently handle any dance style.
The REMIX

Ages 15+ without adult supervision
If you enjoy dancing to pop, R&B, and hip hop music, it’s time to try The REMIX - a dance class that keeps you moving to high energy music from the 90s to now that’s bound to make you work up a sweat - all while having fun! The workout consists of easy-to-follow choreography and is designed to work out every muscle group in your body, helping you shape up and get toned. Add your personal style and flare to make this class your own!
Mini Beatz
For our 3 & 4 year olds. A class based around learning classroom etiquette, basic movement vocabulary, and simple activities to introduce them to spacial awareness, rhythm and direction. These students will be introduced to jazz, modern ballet, and hip hop. Because of Covid regulations, dancers are required to stay in separate dance boxes during the duration of the class. You dancer MUST be able to follow this protocol in order participate in this class. Also, due to Covid, my waiting room is closed and your dancer must be comfortable without you directly in the same room as them and able to go to the bathroom without assistance.
Solos/Duos/Trios
There is an option to purchase specialty choreography for your child to perform alone or with a small group at the recital and at competition if you choose. Practices for these lessons will be predominately on the weekends with some exceptions where space in our weekly schedule allows. Please message Stephanie to confirm dance partner, style and music selection and to schedule rehearsals. Please see pricing for more details.
